About

Hi there, and welcome!

I’m Amber.

My husband, Ryan, and I live in the Washington, D.C. area with our adorable 2-year-old daughter, Olivia, and our energetic (at times) but loveable beagle, Tater.

I work full-time as a marketing editor/writer in the education space, but apparently, my inner creativity didn’t think I had enough to juggle, so I started this blog.

A little bit about me. . .

I love food. . .as in, I have planned entire vacations around what I was going to eat and where. I love all kinds of food and even things that probably don’t qualify as food but I count them anyway, like the cooked sugar you can scrape from the inside of a cotton candy tub.

I have no clue what I’m doing when it comes to being a mom, but I like to think that my husband and I try really hard. We are having a blast with this whole parenting gig, which is, I think, all you can truly ask for.

I get really, really excited about stuff—holidays, a great find at TJ Maxx, making it home from work in less than 45 minutes, Ben & Jerry’s Late Night Snack, managing to code something correctly on this blog, every single new thing Olivia has ever done, SYTYCD. I tend to be overly enthusiastic in general. I have decided this is a good thing, since my husband is so mellow and laidback about everything; we balance each other out.

I am known in my office for being hyper-organized and on top of things. These people, however, have never seen my unfinished basement (aka the land of no return), my linen closet, or underneath the bed in our guest room. I only have so much organization to go around, people.

I hate that I am competitive; it’s definitely in my top five least favorite traits about myself. But I also recognize that it has probably helped me achieve things I might not have otherwise. Still, I have to remind myself constantly that life is not about keeping up with everyone else; that I am a good mom, wife, friend, sister, etc.; that sometimes you just have to be patient and have a little faith in yourself. I’m still working on all of the above.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Enjoy the recipes, DIY projects, my adventures in parenting, and fun finds for you and your little one.
